Faithfulness: Evo-vs-Motorcycle
I've had a Daytona 675, the fastest "600" bike out there, for 9 months; it's been my only vehicle for 3. I took a ride in Manny's ~430whp Evo the other night and was very impressed, it's what cemented my decision to get one for myself. Now, I'd never give up my bike for it, especially with crude oil going over $99 a barrel, but it's a completely different way of going fast and lateral g-happy.
I'd say to go for it, you'll love 'em both in different ways, neither diminishing your enjoyment of the other. I mean, do you think that Brad Pitt loves Angelina Jolie less just because he's banged Jennifer Aniston? ...maybe that's a bad example.

you won't lose love for your evo... Think of it as having two really hot girlfriends... One who's really exciting and crazy, and one who is less exciting and crazy and a little more caring... Kinda the same thing, only you can't actually bang your car or bike and not be considered weird...
Word to the wise...
Funny, I've recently gotten back to the Evo bug after riding my latest bike (Z1000) extensively.
A modern bike IS VERY DIFFERENT from the Evo. Even when comparing it to the top tier sport bikes, I think you will find the OVERALL performance not as inspiring as people lead you to believe. However, the experience is where it's at. The short comings of a bike to a car enthusiast are what make it so pleasurable to ride to those in the know in my opinion.
Think REAL hard about what matters to you, and what you really intend to do with your bike before you purchase one. It's not so much the power or type of bike that's important as it is how that bike fits you, and your personality (not talking about cool factor here either). These days the all too passé sport bikes are great toys, but you will want to look elsewhere if you are looking to do more than track days, and short jaunts to work. Once you have riden different types of bikes, it will make sense why. Something people who have only had experience on one type of bike can never understand that. However, sadly they will blindly defend their chosen stead til the death... regardless of their choosing.
I really have gotten attached to the newer "naked bike" trend. The modern nakeds try to bridge the gap allowing one to have their cake, and eat it too. So taken is my family with these newer offerings, that the wife is about to pick up a Triumph Street Triple. Triumphs Daytona 675 naked if you will. Great all around bike to say the least.
You won't want to part with the Evo though... you'll have to get some real seat time on a modern rocket to understand why it's best to have both in the stable! I LOVE my Evo... esp with winter coming (what little we have here). The Evo always has your back no matter what the hell is going on outside.

The B King is a bit bulky looking to me, but you NEVER really know til you get your butt on on a bike now do you...
I'd LOVE to have a ZX10R. However, I can't justify it knowing that I'd only take it out every once in a while... all the while spending most of my seat time on the Z.
I like the nakeds because you get a little of both worlds...
GOT TO KEEP THE EVO THOUGH!!!

Case in point... those who are fortunate enough to own a few bikes quickly find themselves spending most of their seat time on one. (I have three and a half right now)

And yeah, the Evo stays!!
Wanted a Speed Triple, but it's too small for my 6'1" 250 lb ***... got pics of the Cagiva V-Raptor?
Aux.
What were you thinking of getting? Seriously though, I'm sure your Evo will make an equal stable mate in the end...
