Pricing help...KBB vs NADA..everythings different..help please

hey guys...gonna be selling my MR soon, but I can't find a desent price reference anywhere. KBB and NADA are a good starting point of course, but it comes down to what it is actually selling for.....problem is, every 05 MR I find for sale is modded and such. Please, someone give me a no BS accessment of my vehicle and what I should expect.

KBB = 26K - 28K
NADA= 26K

Here's what I got:

2005 MR, apex silver with 32,600.

Mods:
Custom catback (3" to Buschur muffler)
Buschur MBC (set to 19psi...1.2 or so on the stock gauge)
KN drop in
Swift springs
20% tint

Bad stuff:
wheels have some paint chips and scuffs..can see if looking, small
clear coat on carbon fiber wing is peeling (warranty item)
rub in paint over the gas cap, in clear coat only...donno how to buff out
rub in paint over right wheel wells....someone walked by and rubbed it
road rock chips in front of car...typicall nicks for Socal rds

The car has the stock clutch and brakes...that should tell you just how I drive it. It is NOT my daily driver, and has been driven 3000 miles since Jan.

Sell would come with the following items if wanted:

AEM short ram intake
255lph Fuel pump
stock springs
stock muffler
Forge BOV

Just never got around to installing. I'm selling because I don't want high payments anymore. Trade-in is #$%@.

thank you all in advance for being critical. I would normally just post it for sale, but in this case, I owe the bank $$$ , so I want to be sure about a reasonable price that will help someone buy it, and minimize my net loss to the loan.

car in San Diego,ca

I asked the same question the other day on my car. 06 4,900 miles... Some guys were saying 28K and some were saying I would probably get around 25-27 so..... Maybe you should start yours at 24?

thanks for the reply..was beginning to worry if anyone would even look....I wasn't talking about mods or trouble so not very interesting. I'm prolly gonna start at 26,5 and work from there....I'd love to get 27, but I'm also a realist. I did speak to the guys at South Coast Mitsu the other day, things are looking pretty good there for about 25-26.

thanks again.

I'm getting 10 phone calls a day from kids ...no offense if that's you, but I need to sell the car. Thanks again for the info on KBB and NADA. gonna use that when i buy next time.

None taken...Im 23, i've owned 2 Evos, bought them both myself, I have great credit I didnt need a co-signer for either of them. I bought the first one when I was 21, sold it to a great guy in Ohio. Bought the next one when I was almost a day later. Went all the way to Richmond, VA to get my 06 IX RS. thats 12hours each way for me.

I went through the same thing when I was selling mine kids calling....a guy from this site bought it, its by far the best place to sell your Evo.

My father is a salesman for mitsu and in the car business he told me a great saying when I was selling my frist Evo. "There is an *** for every seat." Be pacient it will sell.

Everytime I log on I see a new way someone tries to bypass the forum rules. You come on here with seven posts and been a member since April 2006, the only reason you are here is because you need something now. Maybe if you would of been a contributing member in here the last 1.5 you could post your car in the for sale thread. Anyways I am in before you thread gets deleted and your account gets suspended.

KBB and NADA mean nothing to most. Most go by auction numbers like Manheim. It hurts, but that's the real World. Best thing to do is look at the trade in numbers for either KBB or NADA and use that as a baseline. There is a buyer for everything and it just depends on how anxious you are to move it. You can always start high(clean retail per KBB/ NADA) and always come down. Just my .02
