need help. my car just died in the rain

so i was driving yesterday in the rain normally & all of a sudden, my 05' evo just shuts off, rpm's & mph drop on the gauges but all electric is still working like normal but it just wouldn't start. i tried to start it twice but for a short time only. i didn't run over any huge *** puddle or anything & i'm using the stock airbbox w/a ralliart filter. any ideas WTF happened?

Did you pull the spark plug wires and make sure your plugs aren't submerged in water?

no, i didn't cuz i never even went through any puddles or anything. when i opened the hood, everything including the filter box was dry.

no smoke.

the car's @ mitsubishi right now cuz it's still under warranty. they better not make me pay for anything. i don't even drive it that hard & it's never been tracked.

it's acting like my old civic did when the timing belt snapped . but how could that happen when i only got 29k miles?

Yes, your car can just die all of a sudden if your IC pipe pops off. It's happened to me . If your timing belt goes, your car will also just die. You would probably get check engine light concerning the crank trigger sensor if the belt let go. Anyway, I hope it's nothing too serious. Good luck.

I would guess you blew a fuse. If the timing belt snapped the engine would make bad noises as you tried to start it. If the IC piping popped off the car usually still starts and idles, although a little rough, and may die off after a few seconds or just stay running. It's also incredibly unlikely that you popped an intercooler coupler off if you weren't under boost.

I had a problem with mine blowing ended up being o2 sensor underneath car touching the chases..........

either way always carry a bunch of fuses a flashlight and socket set for IC piping for if you own a Evo these will come in handy....Just my advice....
