Twin filtered intake

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ECLIP...spagenameZWDVW

I know that skylines had these because they had 2 maf's but for the evo?

I personally hate sponge filters because from my experience they did not flow well. Under boost they usually compressed and created restrictions.

I suppose there might be some use for this as long as it fits. For those that worry about filters and flow rates, using this with 2 cotton or dryflow cone filters might increase flow efficiency due to increase in surface area. (sort of like using twin disk clutches) But it would probably need to be for some huge turbo.

you wont even be able to run this unless your running some kind of speed density or blow through set-up that deletes the maf... and even then i think its pointless

I think its just the section after the maf so it shouldnt really affect the maf. But it is pointless for stock turbo and/or most big turbos. But its still interesting to know whats happening in the market lately lol.

Would you switch a 3" exhaust for a split 1.5" dual?

I'm pretty sure Skyline's used these because they were twin turbo. Yes, they have 2 MAF's, but the pipes are seperate. They don't lead into one point, they are seperate pipes that lead to two different turbo's. These may be used for Skylines running an aftermakret single turbo to use both MAF's, but that is all. No need on an Evo.

This intake makes no sense and won't do anything. It's like one of the JCWhitney mods that will "increase flow by 3000% and add up to 600% horsepower and torque!!!".

I'm sure you'll get a tad more flow with good filters but it has that Home Depot pipe / ricey look to it. Besides, if you really wanted it, room would be the big issue IMO.

Actually it appears to be a 3" pipe with split 3" for the filters.

I dont think you understand. all air entering your motor needs to pass through the maf. if you ran this intake only one side would have a maf. The other side would be letting unmetered air into your motor..

Actually many rx7's, supras, and skylines in japan run these on single turbos. By many i mean more than one less than 100 that i saw when i was in japan. As for the evo i really don't know it's pretty cheap so give it a try.

Please don't put these on your Evo... It just isn't right

Anything that says:

"Fit Most of the Motor Cars"

Just isn't a good idea.

I'd shy away from any product that states it fits on the Eclipse, Mirage, and Evo. 3 different cars with 3 different engine bays.

Besides, with the stock turbo, the turbo runs out of breathe before the filter will ever come into play.

all air is being accounted for...
the MAF goes on after the two filter, its just like have one, but someone decided to make this design for the fast and furious fans

I'm not planning on buying and putting this thing on. But its something that seems pretty interesting as an option to maximize filtration surface area.

I would stay away from that product.Even more so because its probably some cheap low quality part made in China. Why would you put some cheap part on your nice $30,000 + car?Just my opinion.
