Please critique dyno numbers
Today was the grand opening of a new tuner shop in my area called Reese Tuning. The shop held a dyno day and barbeque in celebration of their opening, and my wife and I went there to have her Evo IX dyno'd to see what she is actually making on a dynojet. Until now we've only had numbers from the DLL to go by. Her Evo has the following mods:
WOT-ported OEM turbo manifold w/Swain White Lightening coating
WOT-ported OEM 10.5 hotside w/Swain White Lightening coating
Cosworth 272 cams
SuperTech dual valve springs and titanium retainers
ARP head studs
AMS fuel rail
PTE780cc injectors
AMS 3" down-pipe
AMS 3" test-pipe
AMS 3" exhaust
AEM short ram intake
Nisei intercooler
Nisei lower and upper intercooler piping
Hallman MBC
Walbro 255
Alain-tuned on 91 octane
Here is the dyno graph:
We were a little bit disappointed because we expected the numbers to be a bit higher. What do you guys think?

Those look right in line with everyone else with those mods in socal on 91 pisstane...though I would expect a little more torque. I was wondering about this place since they have posted a Vendor request a couple of times on SCE. How was the shop to deal with?
I am assuming that this was at 21psi

I had a number in my mind when I looked at the mods for 91 octane. I was expecting around 330 WHP, so better than I expected! Have you taken it to the track? A trap speed would be the real indicator of how much power it "really" has.

A local company in my area hosts 1/8th mile events at QualComm Stadium. Since this isn't a dedicated drag strip, the track setup is pretty poor and only those with slicks and DRs are hooking-up. Anyways, about a week ago I went there and managed a best time of 7.8 @ 90mph. I just posted a thread in the drag racing forum about this...

manifold,10-15hp, hotside, 10-15hp, cams, 15-20hp, valve springs, headstuds, 0-5hp, fuel rail, injectors and pump add fuel, creating the ability for more horsepower, downpipe, test pipe, and exhaust 15-25hp, intake,5-10hp, intercooler, 10-15hp, upper and lower intercooler pipes, 5-10hp, boost controller, 20-30hp, tune 30-40hp. yeah, that seems about right. nice! good luck!

It depends, what matters the most is the gains. It is possible to see 350whp range with your mods on 91 octane, but 344whp is not bad at all. But in honesty I think you could even make more power with those mods if you really wanted.

I think more power could be made as well if we wanted a more aggressive tune. Right now there is zero knock. My wife's Evo also has a Fidanza adjustable exhaust cam gear, and the guy who has been doing the tuning thus far is going to start playing with that and seeing what kind of gains we can make.

According to the dyno graph, peak boost was about 23psi. I have no idea if it was spot on or not. Next time I will reset my Defi boost gauge and see what she reads.
I am going to buy the restrictor pill from some shop that Alain mentioned, and then I will have him do the ECU direct boost control.
