Evo almost killed me yesterday...

I was driving normal on a road to school and i was shifitn aorudn 3.5rpm because it was a long straight road. Then i shift to 4th gear my rpm started redlining but it feltl ike it was in neutral and wasnt going anythign so i try to shift to 5th same thing so i slow down and hten shift to 3rd and same hting and also the check engine light came on!! then later i parked i started out at 1st gear and 2nd and so on and it road fine. i checked for cluthc slipage as my friend told me to. i presss the clutch all the way down and rev it a lil to see if hte car moved but it didnt. so im guessing no clutch slipage. then i was dirving my friend home later on and there was a turn and i turned about 20mph and my abs locked up on me on the worst surface every....sand.... because it was snowing i guess and it snowed alot today but anyways i started sliding all over the place and a car was coming towards me so i had to countersteer my way out of it and i went around the car..thought i was gonna die lol. but yeh i really dont kno what is going on with this damn thing...

Still could be your clutch. Get it up to fifth gear and floor it (on a safe road) and then listen and see if your rpms go up and you are not accelerating. That is the first signs of your clutch going out.

Were you breaking while turning on the sandy part of the road? Very easily could have caused your abs to activate if you were breaking and on the sand....especially if your wheels locked up momentarily or slid while breaking on the sand.

Damn, i bet you nearly peed in your pants. It's a good thing that you're OK. I have no idea but you might want to see what the others has to say. If not then you might want to take it to the dealer. Yours is an 05 so most likely it should still be under warranty right?

I would have figured it was the clutch but the code said the it was the transfer case? That sucks dude. I'd be afraid to drive it w/o getting it looked at.

I got it looked at and mitsu didnt do anything about it but said that it was $8000 to replace it....and i currently dont have that kind of money. Then i talk to a mechanic that works there and he told me that even the 03 didnt have the acd so you can bascailly drive it with out it? Im very confused right now...and also they said my abs pump overheated

If you were on the gas in a straight line and rpms climbed but car didn't accel its your clutch. If the car acts funny only when turning its probably the ACD pump.

Hey bro, ya just gotta slow down on them corners especially when you don't see who's coming your way. I love to drift in the snow but it's hella scary too when things don't go your way But the good thing is you're still alive so take it as a lesson learned.
