i noticed a slight grinding noise while at a complete stop while the car is in neutral. it's weird because the noise will come and go and usually only last a second or two. it's not a constant grind. it sounds like it's coming from under the car or somewhere around the pedals because i can feel a slight vibration on my feet whenever the noise comes. anybody have any ideas on what it might be?

maybe your DP is hitting the cross bar

 

that just happened to me I have a magnaflow on my 03 VIII and I bottomed out because the potholes in nj are CRAZY when they plow after snow especially where I live except I bent it and I was getting the most annoying rattle from the bent front cross bar so I jacked it up and pulled it off and bent it back with vice grips for a temporary solution but no more annoying rattle

 

it sounds more like a grinding noise. i'm pretty sure my downpipe isn't hitting anything because i double checked that recently. i still have the undertray off. i'll take one more look and see if anything is hitting something.
