MBC with restrictor pill in

lemmonhead helped me install a Hallman MBC yesterday and we did it from under the car to minimize taking parts out from top.

We used new hose from the wastegate to the MBC outlet and capped the Tee branch supplying the wastegate.

We disconnected the hose from the Tee to the solenoid and pluged that hose. We then put a new hose from that side of the Tee and run it to the MBC inlet.

Our install basically left that short section from the turbo nipple to the Tee in the system which I believe has a restrictor pill in it. I know we should just run that new hose to MBC inlet all the way to the turbo nipple but its too late now.

Is there any issue leaving this short section in the MBC inlet?

The MBC worked and we got it to 22 psi but we noticed that the MBC needs only about 3-1/2 turns from minimum locked setting to get to the 22 psi boost gage reading. I think the reason is the needed pressure to open the MBC is much lower due to the pill.

Is there any issue if the pressure to the wastegate is lower than the intake manifold pressure?

Thanks,
gunhaha

It's not too late - you need to go change it. You can't run your MBC with the restrictor pill in there. Why did you leave that tee there? It should have been completely removed and will have to be re-done. I can't think of any reason you would have done this - lemmonhead knows better, or at least I thought he did.

this is how we set up your car i think richard.

I dont see a problem with how its connected, yes the orfice on the turbo side is still being used.
as long as the MBC bleeds air at your set manifold PSI the system works.
Reason Why i did it that way is so its easier to put back to stock, not loosing the factory T ect..
but if you want it changed, I have no problem helping you.

Yes. That's close to what we have done except the line and cap on the tee. We capped the branch side of the Tee that used to go to the wastegate and the the line from turbo goes tone of the straight side of the tee.

Anyone else think there will be an issue with this setup and? and WHY?
