Buschur Racing Dealer Installs...

Hi, tried doing a google search first but couldn't find the info. So I apologize if this has been asked before and my incompetence didn't allow me to get the answer. Anyways, to my question/s...
Where can I find a list of Mitsubishi Dealerships that offer/install optional equipment from Buschur Racing? Main reason I ask is because I've gotten 2 tickets for my exhaust stating that it's meant to make more noise than factory. I have a 3in Megan TBE but I figure if I have the paperwork to show that it is withing factory specs to the Buschur Racing TBE, then I can't be ticketed for it. What do you guys think? Yay? or Nay?
Also if there's an online page that I can print out with the same info to carry with me and you can link it, that would also be cool.

Hmmm that's true but I can just say it came that way because it's a manufacturer installed option....right? So technically I wouldn't be saying it's altered. And I doubt they'll know the difference between a Megan and a BR.... so should I fight it, I'll have the proof.

good luck.. you cannot expect every cop to know the law and youll get the same tickets regardless.. i have read of people getting tickets for altered tail lights when they had bone stock evo VIII tail lights..

Let me get this straight. You want something legal in writing that allows you to purposely deceive law enforcement for something that is illegal? I understand that you are saying there is no difference between the Megan TBE and the BR TBE and that BR equipment is covered under warranty, but as far as I know it is only covered at the dealership that sells BR accessories. Also each state is different with car modifications so you will have to digress to the state you live in.

Well in so many words...umm, yes? State trooper that pulled me over last said 3in exhaust makes more noise than a 2in exhaust which is true but both Megan's and BR's are 3in so that's where the paperwork would come in. My exhaust in that sense would make the same noise as the factory one (BR)...here's the Florida Motor Vehicles Code Section 316.293

316.293 Motor vehicle noise
(5) NOISE ABATEMENT EQUIPMENT MODIFICATIONS.--

(a) No person shall modify the exhaust system of a motor vehicle or any other noise-abatement device of a motor vehicle operated or to be operated upon the highways of this state in such a manner that the noise emitted by the motor vehicle is above that emitted by the vehicle as originally manufactured.

First of all, a BR exhaust is not stock so trying to justify the BR Evos sold from Medina as stock is wrong. Secondly, they were offered, I'm not sure if they are still offered, as an aftermarket addition that was covered from the Medina dealership in Ohio not Florida. So therefore, you can't legally or ethically justify what you are attempting. The bottom line is that the exhaust has been modified so if you don't want to get hassled from the cops in Florida then I would suggest going back to stock.

That I wasn't aware of...
Hmmm so how do I get started to get some sort of amendment done to make after-market performance exhausts legal in FL (or any state for that matter) ?
I'm sure there has to be at least 1 evo owner or automotive performance enthusiast out there who is a lawyer or something that is aware of the steps required...

I believe I'm correct when I say this so correct me if I'm wrong. But, Stock are options installed by the manufacturer not the dealership or by Buschur for that matter. So yes police could ticket you.

Some dealerships offer or have offered options that didn't come from the manufacturer and where still covered under warranty; for example a lot of the old muscle cars had options installed at the dealerships, but didn't come from the manufacturing plant. I also know that the FQ-series Evos have warranties, but then again that is England. The point is that Florida has a law about not allowing modified exhaust and the OP was trying to justify that a Megan TBE is the same as a BR TBE (which it is not), which are installed as an option at Medina Mitsubishi in Ohio, so therefore not classified as a modified exhaust. If that makes sense.

just ditch the exhaust for one that isn't as loud... there's many more choices out there.
