Buying a Evo MR **NEED HELP**

There is a guy selling a 2006 evo MR near me for 22.6 with 23k miles on it. My brother test drove it and said it was harder to switch gears than the normal ix he test drove the other day. It was all the gears. Should he buy the car? What can be wrong with it? Or is that normal?

Here are his upgrades:
3" exhaust, boost controler, road tune flash, slotted rottors, ACT clutch, fuel pump

You should drive it yourself to see if you think its worth buying because we do not know how that evo feels when shifting gears

If it has grinding or syncro problems I would stay away. Maybe it's got the wrong fluid in it. My MR shifts like butter. I suggest driving it yourself as well.

Yeah I think there may be some issues also. That's a little cheap for an 06 MR with that few miles.

22.6 might be what he owes on it, if the tranns screwed its not that bad to replace it...even if you bought the car and had the tranyn rebuilt its still way under the value of a IX with that low miles.

Id say if you want a project car buy it, but if you don't have a second car and need something to get back and forth to work in might wanna get something that doesn't have a transmission problem.

Dude, for that price I would jump in joy and not even think about writing the check. This is an '06 MR you are talking about, which still sells for close to 30K. Even if the synchros are bad, you will not break the wallet to fixing the tranny. I wish I had that good of a deal...GL!

22.6 is an unbeatable price haha even if there is something wrong i would probably buy it and in the long run you can sell it for so much more!

yea i agree that is a crazy low price. I'm a little more north than you but there are used mrs selling for over 30k near me. I would try and drive it yourself tho. I have about 37K mi on my 06 mr and it still feels like the day I bought it brand new.

An aftermarket clutch would make the clutch harder to push in not effect the shifting, but u should see if u can get him to go to 22k and just get the tranny rebuilt. Sounds like a AWESOME deal
