coolant resevoir
will the hose from the radiator to the resevoir tank suck any coolant from the resevoir to the radiator if the radiator is low?
reason i ask?:::
i had a coolant leak that was fairly bad, i had coolant all over my dp and kinda every where so i looked into it and found i forgot to put a clamp back on a hose that leads to the turbo a few weeks ago and im thinking my leak was from there...so i cleaned up the coolant from the underbody tonight with brake cleaner and also did a coolant flush....and im not sure if it was completely topped off btw, but the resevoir was full....drove about an hour worth at 60mph and when i got home the coolant resevoir was empty but there wasnt coolant anywhere on the bottom of the car so im not sure where that coolant went????

yeah only for about 3-4 minutes lol i was in a hurry to leave work...but i couldnt imagine there being much left to fill, the car didnt over heat at all so id say i'll top it off and be good to go
yeah thanks for the help...im gunna be so happy if i found the leak and it wasnt the line to the turbo thats leaking cause i dont wanna pull out the turbo a second time...would a clamp not being on cause i fairly big coolant leak? and i mean the tiny clamp right by the valve cover...not the big ones on the rubber hoses lol

That's good you found the coolant line leaking from your turbo. If you did a coolant flush, you must have had a bunch of air through the system. Just keep an eye out on it when it's fully warmed up. That's what happened to me when I dropped my turbo in. I thought I had coolant slowly leaking somewhere, but all it was was air trapped inside the system somewhere. I topped it off later and it's been at that same level.
well i didnt do a "flush" i just popped off the bottom hose and let it run out only cause i had more water then antifreeze so i was only save to about 12* degrees so i wanted to get that crap out and get some antifreeze in cause i live in minnesota lol and i noticed the leak cause the underbody was full of coolant and then i was getting ready to pull everything off and take the turbo out again and i saw the coolant line to the turbo had coolant dried on it so i was like wtf? and then saw the clamp wasnt on and tried that instead of pulling the turbo
This happens to me every time I get a flush done. It doesn't matter what vehicle it is but there always seems to be some airbubbles or extra capacity left. After some driving and sloshing the air comes out and coolant goes in. You can top it off with distilled water or buy some premixed coolant to top off the surge bottle. Nothing really to worry too much about as long as you're not leaking and temps are normal.
