I'm lookin to go e85 next wkend but worried i'll run into ignition issues with the stock ignition coils. i purchased head studs, 880cc injectors, fuel rail, and a 255 soc filter for my walbro. debating of whether or not i should upgrade my coils or possibly get a hks dli capacitor for this upgrade.

wartalon what psi are u currently running? i've heard guys runnin into issues w their coils when super boosting > 30 psi

I've had no issues. Ran it to as high as 30 psi, but typically run 28. Make sure you get a good tune.

Only three things needed to run E85 (1) larger injectors, (2) Walbro 255 fuel pump, and an (3) E85 tune. That's it. Period. And you already have the pump and injectors.

Install. Tune. Done. Enjoy!

Depending on current condition, you might want to include a fresh set of copper plugs gapped at 0.020", or if you'd rather follow Warr, gapped at 0.019".

Where are you hearing these things? You aren't on RMEVO asking, so you're not hearing them there. Jim in Tuscon told you again - same as I said.

You didn't need head studs nor fuel rail, and I don't know what a "255 soc filter" is. You need 880s, fuel pump, and B8RES gapped to .019 (.020 if you can get away with it).

The exact # of psi I'm running doesn't matter. Look at my times. Do you see anyone faster up here? No, and not even close. 2nd fastest is Tobz, and he tunes both of us. He does already have an expensive SparkTech and head studs, but I have stock ignition, stock head bolts, stock FPR, and stock fuel rail. My boost gauge hits 30psi, which means my true boost is probably around 27-28psi. It's maxed, but others will tell you they run 32psi or higher up here. They don't really, and they certainly don't make more power, but they'll swear by it until their no-time-slip dyno queen faces turn blue.

a big setup? 1600 CC injectors with a 35R and a sweet fuel setup that would be awesome...

I really can't wait to run e85!

I don't think my stock clutch will hold it too great though, so I'm going to wait until it goes out and then get an upgraded one.

Unless....The stock clutch is capable?

It's fine as long as you don't launch it.

Minimum of 850cc, but I suggest 1,000cc. If you plan further turbo upgrades you might want to jump to 1,200cc.

Most of the tuners who regularly tune and run E85 in their own cars seem to agree that the sweet spot with a stock turbo is 28psi. Above 28 the power increase is significantly less and the risks are significantly higher, IMO.
