Urgent Recall Notice HUH????
So I get a Urgent Recall Notice in the mail from my local Mitsu dealer. HUH?? My car has 104k on it and I would never trust any of those fools within 10 feet of my car.
Well I decide to call to see what the recall is for anyway. I get put on hold. Lady comes back and mentions They need to replace the Fuel Tank Bracket.
Huh I said. She says yup the fuel tank bracket. She asks if I can drop my car off with them. HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA yea right not a chance in hell. I'll wait and watch while they replace the part. So they dont screw up or worse drive my car.
Anyone have any info on this? If I need to order a part i'll just replace it my self

Thats what I thought to myself. Plus the fact that I'm on here day in and day out and never heard of a failed Fuel Tank Bracket. Oh Well. Hoping one of the Mitsu Techs from EVOm knows something

Yea I figured Id just DIY. I guess I can call them back and get the pn that gets replaced and reference it that way. Im all about saftey and if there is truly something out there dangering of course I want it fixed. Just one would think it would have past through these pages first.
fuel tank bracket?? Couldn't they come up with a more important sounding part to claim to replace so they can joyride?

Im going out to jack up the rear of the car in a couple to actually see what they could possibly want to replace.
Anyone working at Mitsu Parts/Service that can provide some explanation?

I did get something similar once (not sure if it was Mitsu or not), that looked like a recall but after reading the fine print, turned out to be just a dealer scam so that you bring your car in & they can find other things wrong that they need to fix before they give you the car back...

Wierd I know this was definately from the the local Dealership with thier number on it and my VIN#. No fine print on the card. No recall description and no recall number. The number is def the number to the local dealer as I have it programed in my phone as the same number.
I set up a appt. I am going to go there and talk with the service manager to try to get to the bottom of it. If they want to give me a free 100 point inspection go ahead just dont put a wrench on anything with out my knowing.
Actually scratch that I dont even trust them doing that right
