i know a guy selling a Blue evo shell 2003.He used to race it and was getting 500+ HP.He spun a rod bearing and now he is selling the shell.It does not have an engine tranny or transfer case installed but has everything else including the harness.What do u think?are there other things i should consider?(suspension wear and tear)?

any help would be appreciated! i really like the blue colored evo though im not fond of the interior in evos.how much would u guys pay?

 

in just using lancershop, which I am sure you can find other shops that are a little cheaper, you'll spend $6k on an engine, $2600 on a transfer case, and $3000 on a 5 speed tranny- all oem. That's $11600+ shipping. For $21600 you can find a used evo and not have to spend the wrench time on it and wait for it to be built. However the good news is that it's all brand new and with 0 miles so you'll know that noone beat the s*** out of it.

 

i would look on here for used engine/tranny/transfer case and you can have them upgraded by buschur/ams/ and shep for the price you will pay new... 10,000 though is alittle to much try and get it for 8,000 and use 10,000 as the highest you will pay for it..

 

try to get him down to like around 8,500 or so

 

thanks for your input. the shell is from an 03 GSR.there is a guy selling a crashed 05 MR for 4500 and its mechanially good except for intercooler.Engine tranny and case and good 31k miles. when i asked the guy about the shell and told him about the MR he said that i may have to swap the harness and ecu from the MR into the bby shell.

any input??

Sounds a little high for a 03 shell. Maybe 6-7 grand.

 

i was able to talk em down to 8 im not trying to lowball him tho, but 6-7 i dont think he will go any lower. Also is there any threads on MR swaps in an 03 shell?i know a guy selling a crashed one but i heard MRs are 6 speed and i may have to swap the ecu and wiring harness also?maybe even dash cluuster?
