What is the latest on the US bound EVO?

Hey guys - I have been away for a while and I was hoping you guys could fill me in on the latest news/rumors. I have a deposit on one at my local Mitsubishi dealer.

It'll have a 4-speed manual tranny, 167.5hp, 4 wheel drum brakes, pleather seats, and come with factory installed "tuner" stickers to give a little extra hp we all want.

i just came back from Puente Hills Mitsubishi. I was asking around about the Lancer Evos, info on the $$$ and the HP. they say they don't know how much it will cost but they say it will cost less then the S4 and more then the WRX. For the HP one sell person toll me the lancer Evo is going to be Twin Turbo and more then 250 and over 280 HP!!! and what the hell Twin Turbo. I think the sell person is on something

It certainly will NOT be a twin turbo. That guy was lying, flat out LYING.

I know it is not your fault, but this is the kind of BS that people fall for.

99.99% of these dealers don't know jack ****. Everything you hear from them is pure and 100% speculation. I have spoken to over 20 dealerships around the country and have received different and contradictory information from almost every single one. They give out blatantly false information just so they are seen as a source of info.

I finally found one that flat out admits that noone knows anything, save what Mitsu has told us, and he refused to speculate. He also does import tuning right at the dealership, and warantees it. That is who I am going with.

Twin turbo? I don't see that happening. BTW that "corporate book" rumor is still possible; there are no final specs and if that person can get me the final specs before Mitsu tells us, I think it will be worth the wait. Don't you? The Evo doesn't come out until late December/earlyJanuary, so there is plenty of time. They ARE testing US Evos in Cali, many people here and people I know who live in Cali have told me they've seen them.

I got a call from my contact at Mitsubishi the other day saying that they will be here in December. He said they are not currently taking deposits, but he will call me as soon as he knows anything more. Apparently there will be a few different trim levels, the GSR being the top of the line.

About the Corp. Book...the guy who promised it to us has apparently deleted his membership on this forum.

I guess he realized his mistake of promising something but not delivering. All that did was get me excited for no reason at all.

He can come back whenever he wants; I don't think he's banned. I have also heard that there are dfferent rims available, with/without CD player, GPS, but nothing on interior. It might just be black though. Brembos, Recaros, and 4 point harnesses, plus HIDs are stock.

At this point, I am trusting info straight from Mitsu and that's it. All we know for sure is AWD, Brembos, 250+HP, and under 30K.

Everything else is purely speculation!!!!!!!!!!!!
