EVO 8 Projectors/bulbs

Hey i have a question and hope someone can finally answer and give me an alternative. i have an EVO8. my lights are evo 9 headlights non HID. my friend has EVO9 SE edition and his lights are the crazzzziest thing i have seen in my life when hes behind you the lights are constantly changing color. one side is blue the other is purple! i want that! people tell me you have to get the whole headlight, others say i need a special bulb, and some say that i need to change the projector housing. i know its not HID because mi other friend has EVO9 with aftermarket HID's and his is not as aggressive as his brothers ( EVO9 SE ) please HELP!! Thanks!

They are HIDs.
What you're seeing is the cutoff the the projectors. The reason why your other friend's car doesn't do that is because when you install HIDs into a non HID housing, you get a lot of scattered light and there is no pronounce cutoff.
Kinda like this, but I doubt the Evo HIDS are as good as these TSXs.

Understand this. The halogen and HID projectors in the evo are NOT the same. As another person already posted, the color changes you are seeing are along the cutoff line.

Even from one evo HID projector to the next, the color along the cutoff is not going to look exactly the same. For example: I've dealt with about a dozen of S2000 projectors, and each had very minor differences in color along the cutoff. This holds true to any brand/type of HID projector...some have alot of color, others don't due to very minor differences in their optics.

Some projectors you can modify the cutoff to get more color along it. Our evo projectors have fixed shields, so it makes things tough, if not impossible.

Your best bet, if you want that color along the cutoff is to swap in either TSX, s2000 (tough fit) or Valeo projectors.

Do you know if there's any way to modify the Evo projectors? For example would tsx clear lenses fit the projector?

I'm pretty sure you can't being they are fixed shields....Your best bet is to buy a set of tsx/s2k/etc projectors and retrofit them in, then sell your evo projectors.

Not sure if the tsx lenses are a direct swap. I'd check that link and search.

Guess it's too late now since I sealed them up already.
Seems like the Evo HIDs has half the output of the TSXs I have.

Sorry for the delayed response!

Yeah the evo's output is one of the weaker HID projectors out there. I've used quite a few HID projectors too....I was going to try and shoehorn in some s2000's, but I may just go the tsx route. Their cheap, small and still have great output/cutoff/width.
