evo 9 mr vs c6
I kept on thinking this thread would die but I guess not. So....I've got to put my 2cents in.
I had a VIII that I sold to buy a C5Z. It was a super clean example and a very nice car. It was plenty quick (some stock C5Z's have been known to run 11.9's) and I felt pretty cool driving it. I mean what could be more American than a red corvette? But when it really came down to being fun to drive and drive fast the Evo just won for me hands down. Plus the added utility of the Evo is just icing on the cake.
Anyway I sold the Z06 and bought another evo. Both cars have positives and negatives but for me the evo wins.
BTW I've got a LS400 that I can daily drive and when I had the Vette I did DD the lexus. With the evo the lexus sits in the driveway.

I would say what ever makes u happy man. I have had v8 all my life growing up and i have enjoyed them all. When i took my first test drive in my evo8 i did not want anything eles but that, the ride, the performance, and even the look. I used to make furn of the people who drove cars like that and well now look i would not trade it for the world.... I would say take the 8 grand and drop it in on half of the down payment, or put it down on performance, in my opion that 8 grand u drop in the evo and get a good tune will most likely kill that c6 vette with no problems....

theres a vid of the first time at the track with a rwd car...the real problem is the run flats and the fact that you can't lower tire pressure without the sensors putting the car into limp mode...so the best I could ever net were 1.9 60 if the track was prepped well...
Here is my evo with nitrous, meth and basic bolt ons at the same track...

the fact is that most vette drivers can't drive because one they never beat on the car and two they aren't setup for drag racing...you really need a set of slicks to run decent times otherwise all the car will do is spin...
