Unhappy Can I raise the Driver's seat????

Hey guys, can someone please please tell me if the driver seat is height adjustable on the Evolution IX? Or give me some advice on what I should do!? I'm looking to buy an Evo but I'm very short (5'4''), and I'm worried that I won't be able to see out of the car. Please someone help me!!!!

The seats do not have a height adjustment, however you might not need to make any changes. Many people complain that the seat is too high from the factory and opt to lower it with aftermarket brackets (or cutting & re-welding the stock brackets).

Buy one and see how it works for you. 64" is not that short. If you still want some height added, then you could have your seat brackets cut and heightened an inch or so. OR buy aftermarket seats.

No height adjustment, but doesn't mean you can use spacers and longer bolts (not the safest) Good Luck!

If your biggest worry so far is the seat height, then you might want to consider not getting an Evo. You can always swap out the seat or do some custom stuff to it.

i'm 5'9" and the seat is perfect for me...my eyes are looking out right in the center of the windshield....the seats are prolly too high for someone 6' or taller might be a tad low for u but you'll still be able to see fine..if needed just use some kind of seat cushion ..........one thing i like about the evo is how the driver sits....most sports cars seem like the seat is too low for me....an example is the 350z.....i mean i could still drive it fine but the evo gives me a lot better percerption of the road which makes driving safer and more fun...but everyone is different...just try it out and see how it fits you

No height adjustment on the stock seats. I have sparco seats and with the brackets, the seats sit up higher.

Sit on a phone-book... ;-)

Nah, you'll be fine, the seating position is WAY to high for me, so you'd have to be extremely small for it to become a problem...

I'm 5'3 and fit just fine in my VIII. Whether you've got short legs and a long midriff or visa versa, the seats conform to your body. You'll be able to see over the steering wheel just fine.

HKS Kansai Seat bracket my be available. They have two models for the X, one lowers the seat, one raises the seat. I got the one that raises the seat. I would expect if they make them for the X they make them for the VIII's and IX's.

Height was perfect in my VIII, but the with the 10 I could never find a comfortable position (proper arm position and enough room for heel toe pedal work) without the seat back being too far forward for a helmet to fit....

Thank you all so very much! hahaha, I never would have thought I would get so many comments!!! Thank you for helping me out!

ps. No I have never sat in one, however I rode in my friends modded WRX and it was probably the greatest experience of my life. After i got out of the car I looked at my mazda 6 and cried. I knew that I needed an STI or an Evo, there was no question about it. to me, its all about the handling and quick bursts of speed. forget about driving in a straight line on a highway, I'm all about back roads and corners.

thanks again.

are you talking about one of these? http://shop.edoperformance.com/evo-i...7_199_200.html

how exactly do they work? i would like to raise my seat a little bit. the ultimate solution would be installing something that let you adjust the seat height easily, but i do not think that is a possibility.
