What its worth to you and what its worth to the mark can be two very different things.

I would take KBB and add your parts at 75-80% (this could be lower - basically, what you could sell each part for) of what they are worth. Ex: 17500 + (5000*.85) = 21750

Id pay around $20,000 if everything was installed nice and clean, nothing is ghetto rigged, etc. You should just keep it.

I would take the kbb and subtract for any aftermarket parts as they actually decrease the value of the car

sorry smike ;]

20k seems reasonable for the market right now. there are lots of 05 evos on the market with 20-35k miles and they are only selling for 22-23k.

Thank you someone who actually has a clue about resale value! LOL

Its your car, you should ask whatever ou think it's worth, however that doesn;t mean it will sell.

hehe i dont like KBB cuz VW r32 owners are shiesters and they'll sell a used r32 for as much as a new evo...

Think about it my car an 05 VIII..that kinda makes it rare right..hehehe

I love my evo best car I've ever had, Im just getting more mature and im not auto crossing cuz I can't afford it so Im kinda lookin at the new Caddy CTS.

Opposite lines of thought here. Depends on the parts. If done up with the best/good parts - can be added. But thats only in the eyes of another buyer that will be doing the same or along the same lines as you had with the car.

I have sold a few cars, either race prepped or drag cars - I added a portion of the parts and sold to an enthusiast. A layperson would not care for my pricing, but the people I sold to knew what I had done and paid my prices.

i agree a evo only caters to a certain market. Its just like a suv. The only person that is gonna buy a evo knows what they are used for. Then just dont want to get crappy one modded with junk and parts not installed right. But i do feel more people are like myself would rather have a car that is stock or very very very slightly modded so you can put what you want on it. Otherwise you will have people saying i know/seen that car before so(fill in the blank) fixed that up not you. So i think thats one of the main reasons people prefer as stock as possible evo to buy not to mention i have seen ALOT of high hp evos with extremely shotty workmanship. hints less mods more money unless like smikeevo said sell to a enthueist that wants there car like that

Their are few problems I usually have with buying a modded car.

-One the parts aren't what I would use (I typically like high quality parts)
-Two Craftsmanship, their are some that are high quality, but their are a lot more that aren't. The really nice high quality modded car, typically don't come up FS as the owner tend to keep them longer.
-Three some are thrashed on and/or you buying someone else problem. If someone invested some so much money into their 'great car' why are they selling it so soon. Again, not every mod'd car is beat, but a higher % are.

However, I would rather a buy a modified car than buy someone de- modified car.
