What would you like to see on EVO 8?
for some reason fender flares look better on the older Evo 4 5 6 Lancers (Mirages). I think the fender on the 7 is good. Whole fender bulging rather than just the arches. But they need to make it wider and bigger.
1) Super-short-geared 6-speed gearbox. As short or even shorter than the current STi's.
2) Lose the "Gravel/Tarmac/Snow" feature. It's meant to make the car handles differently (more understeer) when taken to loose surfaces. However, how many GSR owners REALLY do that? Those who do probably will go for the RS. And guess what: the RS does NOT have that feature standard.
So bottom line? It's just pure gimmick.
Instead have something more practical like STi's variable center differential by which you can channel how much power you want to go to front/rear wheels.
3) Optional or better yet standard 18" wheels. Not for aesthetics but for optimum handling (if 17" is optimal then leave it be).
4) Boot-mounted intercooler spray tank.
5) Bigger gas tank. 48 liter capacity is way too small for street and track use.
6) Built-in shift light warning like STi's. It comes in handy during frantic track workout.
7) Stronger clutch than the current unit on Evo 7.
All of the above seem quite reasonable requests IMHO. But if I were to dream further here're my additions:
8) Standard rear strut brace.
9) Standard steel-braided brake hoses.
10) Standard gauges: boost, oil temp, oil pressure.
11) Looks are secondary to me but bigger wheel arches (to increase track width) and foglights won't hurt; nevertheless I'd take out the foglights anyway to provide air passage for a DIY intake tube into the airbox and uprated oil cooler.
12) Have a more extreme RS version with absolutely zero insulation/sound dampening material (target weight 2800lbs).
13) Standard titanium turbo.
14) Standard HID.
Now if I were to dream even FURTHER:
15) Optional carbon fiber hood, boot, and wing (keep the aluminum fenders).
EDIT:
16) Optional factory roll cage.
17) 6-pot brake in front, 4-pot rear.
Some suggestions above were already posted in preceding messages, they really are good suggestions!

Yeah, that and I think that being able to build a car up the way you want to is alot of the fun too. At least if you build a car up your self, it will be quite a bit more unique, and you'll appriciate it that much more.
We want it like this :-
2 door shell.
lighter , 1000 KG max.
Variable centre diff , up2 85% rear split , like a GT R34 V-spec.
6 speed sequential.
400 lbs ft out of the box.
380 mm , 6 piston fronts.
Electronic or torsen front and rear diffs.
Electric servo steering.
Proper front seats.
HID lighting.
Remote variable rear wing.
I'll have 2 stop there or I cud OD

But more than you can afford, probably not
Items 1 to 7 are the most realistic/desirable features in the next generation Evo.
1) 6-speed is pretty much confirmed; if STi can have it, so can and should the Evo.
2) Variable center diff MAY be a little expensive. But, STi can be had with this option. If not, then scrap the tarmac/gravel/snow altogether anyway; it'll save the potential for electronic breakdown.
3) 18" wheels are nothing new (but I admit pricey).
4) Currently I think the Evo has bonnet-mounted IC spray tank. All I'm asking is moving it to the back.
5) A redesign in the cabin/boot can yield bigger gas tank, no high cost here definitely.
6) STi has shift light. Enough said

7) Stronger clutch is more like an expected necessity, not too much to ask I think. If you guys were driving Evo 7's now, you'd be wishing that this item had already made it to production.
The rest of the list like I said in the earlier post is a little wishful thinking.
The VCD and the 18" wheels would be the biggest cost addition. Mitsu can instead offer these as options.
So come on Mitsubishi... read this thread please!
An anti-rice device would be great. "I'll cut you!" could be played over the radio with a sudden shock everytime someone tried to put stickers, chrome wheels, neon kits or 5" tips on the car. Maybe
could just void the warranty too. Hmmmm...
