Thumbs up Sunroof in SSL package that won't let water in!

Here in Central Florida, it has been raining off and on all week long. Today the g/f and I went to the Premium Outlet malls near I-Drive here and I made the mistake of leaving my sunroof cracked open as I open it when I am driving from time to time.

I thought to myself when we were at the malls "I don't think I closed my sunroof" Everyone else said "na dude, you didn't have it open".

It POURED while we were there for about 5 or 6 hours.

I came back to the car at about 9PM and sure enough, I had left the sunroof cracked. I looked inside expecting to see a mess of water but to my surprise not a single drop of water came in the cabin. This is the first time I have ever accidentally left it open BTW.

+1 to Mitsu for designing a leak proof sunroof, even when accidentally left open in torrential down pouring rain.

You must have had it cracked just right or something. I was sitting in the rain yesterday with the sunroof popped up (you know, when you press the button, not slide it). The rain was coming in, had to close it. It's perfect when driving though. I am surprised there was no water in there.

The good news is you will only do that once. I made the mistake of leaving the sunroof cracked on my 98 GS-T going into a store. Luckily, I wasn't in very long and it had just started to drizzle, so only a tiny bit of water bounced in after hitting the roof. Walking back to the car, noticing it was propped up in the back, and cursing myself the whole way to the car did it for me. That was over 6 years ago, and I always check before getting out now.

But good for you, dodging the bullet like that. Hours in the pouring rain could have been A LOT worse.

man your lucky, my sister had a mini cooper with the double sunroof's. It was having major electrical problems and would just randomly open the windows and sunroofs, well this happened in a torrential downpour and the car was turned into a fish tank, everything ruined. Luckily the car was replaced by the dealer.

Extremely lucky considering the fact that the rain POURED for hours... I couldn't and still find it hard to believe NO water came in...

Nice job Mitsu!

Good to know. Not that I plan to leave my sunroof open in the rain but whatever. Hell I barely drive my car when it's raining anyway.

I just thought I would share that it's nice to know if you ever forget to close it for whatever reason, not a single drop got in the cabin.

I'll be making sure I close it more, but still if I ever forget the car has me covered Literally.

Definetly a good thing to know. You don't often see threads like this on this forum. Most people just b*tch and whine about what their Evo can't/won't do...

I left mine popped up in the back once while I was at work.

In came a good ole' South Carolina afternoon thunderstorm, the wind blew extremely hard in the direction that the sunroof was popped up in, and my front seats were soaked.
