SES light on after ic pipe clamp comes off.

Well today was my first time going through this. One of the clamps from the uicp came off after giving it some gas. I got up to 50mph and boom down to 10mph. So i coast down to the shoulder and check. Just as i suspected the hose was off and the clamp missing. So I look for it but no luck. Called mitsu roadside assistance and in less than 30mins tow truck arrived.

Once at the dealer I explained to them the situation but they told me they could not look at it until the next day. So I just tell the lady that I would just go buy the part and put it on. I go over to the parts dept. explain the situation to the guy and he checks it out. As soon as he saw it was just the clamp he laughs and cant believe they want to keep the car just for that. So he gets the clamp, puts in on and turn on the car. The car runs good no problem, nothing out of the ordinary. 1 hour later im driving home and now the service engine soon light came on.

Any idea why? At least 2 hours went by after the clamp was put on and now the light came on. (The engine bay pic is not mine got it off of google) The arrow is pointing to the clamp that came off. Thanks in advance.

UPDATE. Thanks for the advice. I tried disconnecting the battery but it came back on. I took it to the dealer on friday it the code it threw was P0420. The catalytic converter assembly needs to be replaced. Good thing for my warranty as everything will be covered. Thanks again for the help.

I had similar thing happen to me as I was merging onto the freeway. I heard a "pop" and the car felt really sluggish. it was that tb hose clamp that blew off. I had no tools so I couldnt screw the clamp back on, so I just remounted the hose and limped my car slowly back home. Luckily I had an extra t-bolt clamp at home, factory worm style suck. They can lose their strength after a while. The simple act of just removing one and reinstalling it can be enough to make the thing worthless. I made sure it was on nice and snug, but it just wasnt any good anymore.

Same deal with me, IC pipe popped off the next day SES light comes on. P0420 code, so i reset it and all was good till later on that night when the SES light came back on >=(. So I'm going to check the code to make sure its that same and see where I go from there. Any ideas as to why this code is being thrown? And out of curiosity whats the worst case scenario for the code? I have never touched the exhaust, so what's the best place to try the trouble shouting?
