I love performance over luxery any day. I will however (wife has a beamer) say one thing about her beamer I like over my evo. The warrenty on those things is freaking awesome, not to mention customer care, the whole nine. Hell I can barely take my car into any local Mitsu dealership and not get the "WTF DID YOU DO TO YOUR CAR, CRAZY RICER PERSON, ZOMFG EVERYTHING IS YOUR FAULT, WHERE DID YOU GET STICKERS?! STICKERS CAUSE CEL TO COME ON, ALL YOUR FAULT YOU VOID WARRENTY!!" when all I want is an oil change or annual safety inspection sticker lol. Seriously, it's pretty ****ty getting any kind work done at the 5 different Mitsu dealerships I've been to over the years.

I got my EVO IX for 15K with 39k on the odometer but 24K on the motor thats in it. I traded my 04 CBR 600 rr (had 22k on the clock). The 9 had EVO VIII interior in rough condition (He got screwed trying to get SE/MR interior by a board member). I got a decent deal considering the car had been modified to hell and put back to stock.

Agreed. The only thing I can see myself missing is power windows and locks. Then again I do smell of bengay and have an "old mans cap"....

you'd be surprise how many ppl are still looking to buy an Evo from South Coast Mitsu. They've given us everything a dealership can offer, such as free oil changes, car washes/ 30% or more off of OEM parts and big discounts on MODs such as Camshafts and internals and they're mod friendly. They even do installs on mods for you and the prices are very reasonable. So I guess that's why the prices are still a little higher compared to other evo dealerships. Most of the other dealerships around California won't even look at our cars if we didn't have a Carb Legal intake, they'll try to void our warranty just for having an exhaust but not at SCM. Just my 2 cents

Mitsubishi can't afford to be covering peoples cars so theyre going to use anything possible to get out of it.... Thats what it comes down to.

It is bad economy and depreciation. One person mentioned the collector aspect of the ix. I think the ix was the end of an era for the evo. The problem is that for a ix to have collector value it needs low miles. I paid $31k for a ix mr SE in October 2007, because it had 4000 miles and was completely stock. Now it is my dailly driver, and it is depreciating. I bet you could still get good money for a stock ix with less than 5000 miles on the clock.
I wouldn't pay top dollar for a ix with miles, because who knows what has happened to it.

Someone mentioned that the evo might be the next ricer. That will never happen the car is too rare. The evo will hit a floor on price no matter how old it gets. Look at the 3000GT VR4. There are not enough evos in the US to meet the demand if every high school kid can afford one, so the prices won't get too low.
