Evo VII Front clip..

Ok, this may sound odd, and may be the wrong place to post.. But I'm looking to get a complete EVO VII front clip (Nose, Engine, wiring, etc..)

I would like to put the VII nose Bodywork on my VIII but the real reason is I want a complete donor drivetrain that I can build up over the winter.. with the ability to mock up my modifications.. Any ideas?

its very hard to find newer front clips..evo's 4-5 are easy to get but 6-8 are extreamly hard.

http://www.flashoptions.com/product_...17&subcatID=42

that site usually comes across some evo clips...

just do a yahoo search for like "japan front clip" and you should find some links

as promised:

best thing to do is a search on that forum. There is alot of stuff.

for an SR > heavy throttle, phase2motortrend, project silvia, enjuku racing, and there is some place in manasas that allows you to pick out your engine. Trust me on this becareful where you get your engine from. I bought my SR for my previous car from a great seller and I got a great engine.

sorry if this went off topic but for anyone buying engine or high price parts, you get what you pay for, plus its used.

No.. Just interested in the JDM Drivetrain.. I'm fairly certain that the 7's had the same transmission (more or less) as what we have.. What I really want is the ECU, harness, sheet metal, bumper, rebar, etc..

Contact RMR - they converted a VII to VIII externally, so they might have the VII parts still. Also, they have a full VII dash and the ACD hardware - hence, you could have an VIII that looks like a VII with ACD (no AYC). Just a thought. I am sure it would be costly, but you'd be the only car like it.

I'm curious, why would you want to do this? If you aren't interested in the tranny swap, or any of the electronic diffs, why wouldn't you just get USDM VIII front clip from a local salvage yard? (Seems a bunch are popping up more and more). Is it because of cost? A half cut car won't have anything past the a-pillars, so why swap in an older motor that will need a different ECU, if you're going to build up the USDM 8 motor which is essentially the same? If you buy a back half EVO 7 they surely won't match. I can understand the bodywork part, but it seems like a lot to spend, just to get a hood, bumper and grill.

No knocking your project, just wondering what the goal is.
