HUGE boost leak, only high rpms

So I noticed today that when I floor it, it'll hold 20-21 boost but once the car hits 5-5.5k rpm I hear a huge rush of air coming from the driver side. The car still boosts 20 but it feels awful. Car feels perfectly fine before that though. I checked all the piping and all hose clamps are tight, stock evo 9 bov is tight and the vacuum line to it is on there tight. I was thinking its my bov or my boost solenoid?? Any ideas or things to check, thanks!

only mods I have are frontmount, lower IC pipe and TBE. Stock tune, no boost controller.

it seriously sounds like its just taking a huge dump of air right when it gets to 5.5k rpm. Rechecked all the clamps and connections to the bov, i could do a leak test but I only hear it at 5.5k rpm... and boost has been at 20 psi for a little already

do you still have the stock intake snorkel? if you do are the clips still holding it in? if those clips arnt in the snorkel gets pushed up against the hood and starves the turbo for air causing a boost cut. this happened to me at about the same rpms and it baffled me forever. good luck

I'll check the intake in a little bit. Come to think of it now, I realized the plastic clips on the snorkel were missing last time I popped my hood. I hope thats it.

Last thing I did to my car was a new TBE, my rear o2 sensor got ripped out of the plastic connector but I reattached everything and got rid of the CEL light.
