hard to put in gear, mainly reverse
So here my problem guys. 2, 3, 4, and 5 gear are slightly tougher to put in, first requires a little more work then the rest, and reverse requires that i literally use all my strength to put it in, or that i turn the car off (I do this, because i dont want to break anything).
It started during a autocross meet when i lost traction. I stopped the car and went to reverse with no luck it didnt was to go in and it went into first but took some effort, and thats about it.
I took thte car to the mechanic shop. He tried bleeding the clutch system, and he checked both the slave cylinder and master cylinder and said they were fine. He says it the clutch going bad. Is this true? A buddy of mine at UTI suggested I change my transmission fluid, could that help?

Yes, change your tranny fluid. You will notice a world of difference, especially if it has never been done. I see it is an 03' so it must be getting up there in mileage. It prolly hasn't been changed in a while. Mitsubishi reccomends oil changes for severe use at 15k intervals. If you are regularly autox'ing you should change it at this interval...
I use Amsoil Manual Transaxle and Gear lube 75w-90 GL-4 equivalent in the transmission, and Amsoil Severe Gear 75w-90 in the transfercase and rear diff.
Buy 4 qts for the tranny and 1qt for the tansfercase and rear diff. You will have some left over for both as there will be residual fluid in all three cases.

it kind of made sense that it could be the fluid because its been almost a year since i've changed it, but the odd thing is, wouldnt the fluid slowly do bad, not just all of a sudden like it did at the meet?
it's not the fluid, your throw out bearing has a clip in it that is known for slipping out i recommend you check that during the time you put fluids in it rather then putting new fluid then seeing the same result.... just my .02

no lol you have to drop the tranny.... i sure most ppl here would agree it's the TOB its happened to me plenty of time, dam mitsubishi for using a pull style

i have no idea what clutch i have. i bought the car from a used car dealership and they claim its an aftermarket clutch but didnt know what kind. there is only one other evo in my area so it hard to check.

do the clutch pedal adjustment if that does not work it's going to be a 99% chance your TOB is acting up but on the good side if you have any damage to the TOB there only like 60 bills unless you have to get a clutch then your gonna be paying a bit more
