I just sold my 2003 cobra with 480rwhp and missing every moment of it. I've always wanted to own an AWD car and I prefer the Evo over the STI. I would like to get some opinions for Evo owners, so any input is appreciated. For me, price is always a factor since I'm in college, but it doesn't look like the Evo X (2008) is that much more expensive then some of the IX's and MR's out there. I'm looking to lightly mod the whatever evo I get and possibly get around 350whp and be done with it. Let me know what you guys think! Thanks
i would post the same on the X section. Sure you will get a same results but the opposite way

Only difference , you can see both side of the crowed

Also there will be more guys who actually can give you probably better view about this , since they most likelly had both , not like here probably. I personally never heard anyone who had an VIII or IX and got the X then they changed it back to the IX.

But i know many guys who had VIII or IX and they have a X now.

Sure this is my humbled opinion only

About Noize , no offense but he change cars very often , and seems to me he never satisfied.

DOnt get offended , just an observation, Noise

Rob

Youre gonna have to drive them. Either one will put a smile on your face for sure.
At your listed hp level, which you'll up for sure, either car is very capable.
It may come down to cosmetics for you really. GL

holy cow! never thought i'd see that.

op, you're not going to be disappointed with either.

but the 9 is likely to cost you less in general. less initial cost. plus 17" tires are priced much better than 18". check the thread by indyevo, running in the 11s now with an mbc and intake - https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...ne-11s-17.html

the point being that the 9 is an incredibly effective platform with lots of used parts out there for you to pick up for even less money. the 9 is a more mature platform which is a beautiful thing for folks that have to be smart with their funds - you can pick an efficient mod path, a proven tuner, and maybe even have some cash for other things.

And yes, I do agree that this little website does make searching for a car a lot easier.
Thanks!
