so i'm driving back home from Rancho Cucamonga and 5 minutes away from my house a huge raccoon decided to run into the right side of my front bumper as i'm driving about 50 mph. i wasn't able to swerve around to avoid it cause there was the median right next to me. my first thought was "wow i finally killed an animal with my car." then my car starts making a whining noise when i accelerate. it sounds like i have a super charger. i took a quick look at the damage to my car and i only noticed that the right side of my front lip is hanging off. im gonna get under the car right now and check what the whining noise might be coming from. maybe my oil cooler? stupid raccoons!

It probably f'ed the serpentine belt or bent a pully or something similar.

I hit a squirrle the other day. It literally shot out from my front tires like a cannonball into the woods. Seriously, like 6 feet in the air. I almost felt bad, but it was actually kind of cool. I saw it in my peripheral.

 

Same thing happened to me about a month after I got the car. Now my se lip is pushed in. One of the plastic welded clips broke. Worst part is. The coon didn't even die I was so pissed

 

yeah imma take pictures right now. you can still see the raccoon fur on my front bumper. my mesh is messed up. the oil cooler is dented. ****ed me up royally.

 

That must have been a real big raccoon to ram you hard enough to bend a pulley or something. Did it get up under the bumper?? Kamakazeeeee

 

i dont think it got under the bumper. i pushed the mesh on the right side of my front bumper back in and somehow dented the front AND the side of the oil cooler. those are the only damages that i can find so far. i hope it missed my oil filter. it looks like it's still sitting properly, but it might be a little tweaked though.

 

yeah my turbo oulet pipe is tweaked too which is probably causing the whining sound.

my dad just got home and i asked him if he saw a dead raccoon on the road and he was like "yeah i saw it! it was big!" and i was like "yeah i'm the one that killed it!" haha he was so surprised. he said it was huge.

 

LOL, the raccoon hit you. Like he didnt sustain any "damage"

 

Oddly enough, I killed a skunk driving my Evo home the night I bought it. First kill. Lucky it didn't spray my car lol

Same thing happened to me. I was doing around 50mph when a racoon ran across the road. My damage was on the left side though. The clips and undertray were damaged. The racoon didnt die he got up and limped away.
