Update on Mark Mitsu/Ebay Scandal...
It's over. Posted last night by MarkD:
-----------------------------------
Sorry for the delay in posting - I was working late.
It's true.
MARK MITSUBISHI offered me the same ebay EVO at the final auction price.
Many of you knew of MARK MITSUBISHI's offer before I did since I was at work.
I was informed that the car was not titled and the full factory warranty would be in effect.
The finance manager did not know the exact mileage, but he informed me that the car remained at MARK MITSUBISHI after the auction.
The dealer is researching tax issues for a out of state sale.
This thread is amazing. Thanks to all.

after all the crap they took because of you and you are going to buy that car? i could almost guarantee that you are going to find dried loogies in the most unusually places if you buy that car. you would have to be very naive to assume that car is going to be unmolested upon delivery.
still, i'd rather have seen mark mitsu get it in the *** from lawyers.
but wow! this is internet history. though i don't know if anyone will remember this in about a week, oh well.

So the folks over at NASIOC just put some major support behind one of their members getting an Evo. Cool.
BTW, has MarkD been seen over here on EvoM? Probably needs to do something about those red and silver seats first.

Apparently MarkD will not being getting his car afterall, some small problem with a bank account balance or something to that effect.
I spent about a half of an hour with the boys up a Mark Mitsubishi hoping to get a good laugh at their expense. Here is what I learned. The original car posted on Ebay had been sold. THe internet manager had never put a car on ebay before and did not understand the reserve option nor did he use some of the other general disclaimers that most of the dealers who use Ebay use to cover their butts. Said manager is apparently seeking employment elsewhere.
I did see the red Evo they offered to sell MarkD for $26,200, it is brand new, untitled and has a sticker of $30,982. It does not have the vid equip or custom seats but if one young man from Colorado could come up with a deposit let alone the purchase price he could get an awfully good deal on a new Evo.
Apparently MarkD has not been reponding to e-mails and the owner of the dealership has called him. I have to say that I was certainly looking to have a good laugh, but these guys were very nice and felt bad about the situation especially since it was caused by one individual and is not a conspiracy by the dealership itself. So what is it, high school kid from Colorado with no money, or just sour grapes?

WHY are you saying he's some high school kid with no money? you are saying:
basically, they're offering him AN evo for 26200. NOT THE evo that he won. they already made this offer earlier in the week for 26995 + tags, tax, etc. it's a BS deal. wow, he won the hooked up evo, they sold it, but are offering him a stock evo for that price? c'mon man. that's bull****. no way would i go through with such a ****ty deal.
you really think this is them being good guys?
