Question EVO VIII Recall

Hi,
I just read in a European web page that Mitsubishi will recall most of the EVO VIIIs in Japan and UK. There is a problem with the gearbox. The problem is that they don't specify, so I'm assumming it will be for the 6speed box. They haven't mentioned anything about the US EVOs. Anyone knows anything?? Did anybody had a problem with a transmission??

Dont read too much into the hype. I also own a Nissan Spec-V and if you believed everything you read, you would think it was a ticking time bomb. I have 50k miles on it and have yet to experience any of the problems that get blown way out of proportion on some of the message boards for Nissan cars.

I sold my Spec V for my EVO VIII!! That's funny...What forum do you visit? I am a MOD on The V Board (same username). And I have over 5,000 miles and no problems yet...As for the Spec V...I won't go there...TOO MANY to list...Nissan North America is a joke...

I'm mostly on b15sentra.net...a bunch of whiney kids. I have never had a prob with my spec, still love it! I'm keeping it for my project car when some good turbo kits come out. I was on v board for a bit, same screenname.....

That recall was only for the 6speed gearbox. Nothing to worry about our bulletproof 5speed.

Good luck with the turbo kit. I know 2 people who have already invested in the turbo kits and one has a blown motor and the both are still waiting...OVER 4 MONTHS NOW!!!

Yeah thats why im waiting for a BIG company with some serious money to blow on R&D. If that never happens, then I'm not gonna go with some dude down the street and his turbo kit.
