high rpm grind in 5th issue

well I was wondering if this is a common issue on the evo 9 tranny's? when driving normal my transmission shifts fine without any grinds or lockout issues but as soon as I go from 4th to 5th at 7500 rpm it grinds but goes into gear. Could a clutch adjustment fix this?

btw I am currently using amsoil trans fluid and I've had the car for a month now and its been that way the whole time.

My ix does the same thing at only high rpm's. Could be the synchros in trany but not sure.

ya i know its the synchro but I was hoping I could try a clutch adjustment or possibly a fluid change. I'll probably just try and see if the adjustment helps

You could try swapping the trans fluid and go from there but if it still grinds after that, its a synchro issue.

Same problem with one of my friend's Evo. No clue why because he doesn't bang into 5th gear. If anything, we expected 3rd gear to grind.

if i remember correctly, 1-3 have triple synch, and 4&5 have single ones.
I would suggest changing the fluid and see if that helps, otherwise, yes like everyone else said ur synch is on its way out.
