I heard mitsubishi put vin numbers were on the block/motor after a certain year, true? if so where was it placed?

 

Yes. They put them on all of the motors I have seen. Look near the transmission, or on the front of the block. IIRC it is on there 3x...

 

Yes, the VIN # is on your car and everyone elses car multiple times. On the dash, on the inside of your door, etched on your window, engine, frame... Law enforcement folks use the latter 2 when car thieves tamper with the dash and door VIN #s because those are the ones people usually know about.
