I need a shift light
LOL man you guys are freaking brutal. But hilarious.
+1 to what most guys are saying: watch the tach, learn to respond to audio cues from the engine, etc.
But if you're really concerned about over reving the car, don't buy a shift light. Instead, go buy a tactrix cable and get ECU Flash. Pull your map, edit the rev limiter down to 7500, and reflash. If you don't know what you're doing, someone else will.
What I don't get is how are you even able to rev to 8500, because I'm pretty sure the stock rev limit is set to 7500ish? Did you downshift into second at like 70 mph?

I have an autometer shift light with a digital tach, I have the light set to come on 500 rpm's before redline and blinks at redline. But I hardly ever see it because I never had the need to shift that high, and I usually have the tach turned off so I basicly waisted my money
