Need advice ASAP: Is this a fair price for a stock IX MR SE with 2,400 miles on it?
Hey guys!
I need some advice ASAP. I may be purchasing a 2006 IX MR SE tomorrow locally. It has 2,400 miles on it (not a typo) and is 100% stock and has never been modded. It is in pristine in basically new condition with a clear title. The original owner is selling it as well. It was his second vehicle that he rarely drove and has decided to get rid of it now.
Realistically, it is going to cost me $28.5k if I pull the trigger. I've decided I want a very low mileage IX MR (doesn't matter if SE) but I'm not sure if this is too low.
I will probably be putting 5,000-6,000 miles on it a year, so it's not like it will have exceptionally low miles as a show car for the rest of its life. I plan driving it and doing basic mods to it as well - nothing major. I do want to hold on to the car for a long time though, and that is why this one appeals to me. I am hesitant because I just feel like I can be buying a brand new 2010 X GSR for a grand or two more. I do not know if this is a lot of money for this particular car - because it is a lot of money in general.
I am also debating on holding off and trying to find one with 10,000-15,000 miles on it for $24-25k. Is that realistic though? I'm trying to decide if that extra $4k is worth it...
I appreciate your input! Thanks!

I don't think it's worth 28-29k at all. Unless you are thinking it means something for you that you NEED a stock car with pristine condition and you intend to keep that way, get it. If not, you can save a good load of cash. Don't get me wrong, a 2400 mile car is like a new car, but "like" a new car does not mean it is a new car; the parts are 4+ years old. I recommend the same thing from the other guy, get something with higher mileage, maybe 10000 to 60000 miles and get a good deal. $8000 difference for a car that will be driven on a daily basis just seems a lot to me.

I think I know what car your talking about Black IX MR SE wingless right? If I can recall vortex generator has also been removed?
If so that car has been like listed 3-4 times so I bet you could talk him down. There is no way in hell I would pay 28-29k.

Yeah guys its the one on eBay. He said that is as low as he would be willing to go: about $29k. I can't pay more than about $28.5k. We briefly talked numbers. It does sound like a lot to me as well. I'm having second thoughts now...
What can one with 10,000-20,000 miles be gotten for? Is $24k-25k realistic? That $4k-5k is a lot to save...

I wouldn't pay more than $15-18k for a used evo with 10k-30k. You don't know what the car went through...
Heck I wouldn't pay $29k on that MR...Maybe $23-25k tops.
I got my MR for $32k OTD brand new

Yes in my opinion for less than 3K that price is pretty fair, you are buying a ~$36k car which is 4 years old....normally when cars have less than 3k miles, the price is pretty close to original retail value.
But honestly like other have said, could get a car with slightly more miles for almost $8k less
