boost problem

boost problem

hey all, i'm having troubles i have a bone stock evo ix and it's boosting to like 28 psi and throwing my overboost code, and it's also throwing a running rich on bank 1 code. i have evoscan with the tactrix cable but i have changed nothing, just wondering if anyone has an sudgestions. thank you's

yeah i am but i'm not fully read up on the evoscan yet so i didn't wanna change anything on it yet.

I would suggest changing to an MBC, its cheap and itll let you know if your booost control solenoid is acting funny. Just make sure when you install the MBC you have it turned al lthe way down to start. Then run the car hard and it shouldn't go over the wastegates stock 14psi of boost. If it runs good like that then slowly work your way up to stock boost levels and you should be good.

Thats a possiblity but I figure spending $80 on an MBC is a good way to find out plus everyone should have an MBC anyways...esspecially if your looking to start tuning yourself.

yeah for sure my dsms had em but i figured since the evo's got the build in electronic one i'd give it a shot, quick question about MBC's have you ever used the hallman with the extension to controll the boost from inside the car???

No I haven't, I do have a hallman but never bothered with the extension kit.

wastegate

so the waste gate actuater is VERY VERY VERY hard to move i'm not sure how hard it whould be to move but if it should open at 20 psi i'm not sure how it can possibly do it. is it normal for it to be so hard to open?
