Evo upgrades, whats your opinion?

Hey just bought my first evo, 06, non mr. I am looking to do a few upgrades and was just wondering if any of you had these upgrades to tell me fit and performance, or could give me a different option.
ive read the evo for dummies and just wondering if you could help me with brands

First i was looking at the intake
i usually use aem but i was thinking about going with the injen
http://www.evomoto.com/product.php?p...&cat=43&page=1
my reasoning is that it comes with the lower intercooler piping.

2nd i was looking at a cat back exhaust
I like the Greddy tic
http://www.shopgreddy.com/exhaust-he...c-exhaust.html
I have to keep the cat on the car but would love to put a down pipe on, suggestions?
also wondering how loud this is at cruising speeds. like 60mph, rpm 3 grand.

3rd boost controler
the Greddy profec b spec 2 boost controler.
just wondering how hard this is to instal. also what is stock boost ussual for a evo?

4th gauges.
boost gauge is easly installed
how hard is it to instal the wideband air/fuel gauge
i was reading on the evo upgrades for dummies, it said something about welding on the downpipe
http://www.streettunedmotorsports.co...s/aem_uego.htm
in this one it looks like you just hook up the o2 sensor and this run it to the gauge, is it this easy?

5th
lowering springs
http://www.streettunedmotorsports.co...ch_pro_evo.htm
Would it be smarter to put in drop springs or change it all over to a coilover set up. im not looking to spend to much money on lowering it. i live in new york, so snow and salt take their tole on coilovers, im trying not to drive it in the salt, but i gotta take it out in the snow, test that awd

6th blow off valve
i love the hsk blow off, but im not 100% sure if i want to recuirtulate or just let it blow off the atmosphere
i found this one, i hope someone has one and can give me advice on it, looks kind of cheaply made, also how does it sound when it blows off, compared to the hks
http://www.evomoto.com/product.php?p...&cat=70&page=1

7th i know this has been brought up several times
how hard is it to instal the rostra cruise control kit
http://www.lancershop.com/customer/p...productid=1062
also with this kit or one like does it work like a stock one. ex hit the brake, or clutch it turns off.

thanks for any help you can give me
Peter

You'll get a better deal through MAP Performance.

keep your stock bov and save money, get a different intake such as buschur, map, ams. Get a lower ic pipe from same company buy a used one if u want. Hallman Pro boost controller will do wonders. Keep the stock cat and gut it or get a hi-flow cat. Are you looking for loud or quiet exhaust? Tanabe Gf210 or Tein S techs on stock struts are fine if you are trying to save money.

Also forgot ETS makes excellent products as well. So Map, Buschur, AMS or ETS are all excellent.

S-techs will blow your struts, get swift or GTWorx if you want to get springs.

Yep, most if not all of the stuff you posted up you can get it from MAP for a great price. Stay away from the tein s lowering spring, these are one of the worst spring for our car(hint* blown struts). If you want to change out the stock downpipe to aftermarket any 3in will get the job done.

If you want parts search Evo parts review and Dyno results but imo stay away from the greddy protect spec 2 as it has shown more problems when being tuned with. I got a HKS EVC VI privy but worth it they have the HKS EVC. those s as well around the same price as a greddy but just not as easy to use.

IMHO gauges should be first. Good to monitor everything while you start to upgrade stuff. Speaking of gauges...I got a defi boost for sale ill let it go cheap. let me know if your interested.

But yeah, start with intake, exhaust and boost controller. Then intercooler and pipes. Keep your stock bov or use the synapse recirculated. got a synapse for sale also and tune once you do that.
Then come the more serious stuff. Cams, injectors, possible e85 tune, and maybe turbo upgrade. Lots of people are putting down serious power with those simple mods and an fp turbo.

IMO
HKS hi power is quieter than Greddy,

get a Hallman MBC, stock evo IX is 21psi,

for the WB its easy if u got a downpipe with an o2 bung already welded on if not weld two bolts on there and install o2 sensor easy brO,

Tanabe gf210 springs ( grip feeling ) no regrets and will match ur red brembo's ;]

Tial BOV atmospheric best out there

ur number 7 dont be lazy haha

thanks for all you advice

i want the car to be a little quite, but when you open it up i want the motor to breath easy. My main concern with the exhaust is to have it the noise low at cruising speeds. im a fan of greddy, thats why i was looking at them so much but in the same sence i want to keep my self from a head ach down the road.

The greddy boost control said it was warnings on it for boost creep, and when you start modding a turbo car, thats a big thing you gotta watch.

im going to look into all the stuff you guys told me
i already look at the map website, love it.
thanks i like to order from a company when they have proven themselfs
online ording is a little scary sometimes.

Form a plan

Find a company that has performance stages for sale. When you mix and match parts you have an unknown combination of stuff, that you don't know what part is keeping you from making good power. If you stick with a reputable company with staged upgrades you will get great results. I have a stock block, head, cams with good bolt ons making 403 horse and 367 ft/lbs of torque on 93 octane with a fp red. Mustang Dyno! I am planning some cams and other stuff this winter. I am a bad driver and I managed a 11.97 at 118+ in the 1/4 mile this year.
Read alot. Check the fastest quarter mile times and see what those people run for modifications( in the drag racing section). Good luck and enjoy your Evo

Greddy ebc is easy to install I had it for few yrs. now i am doing ecu boost control with jdm map and 3 bar solinoid, this the way to go.
don't go with MBC this is the old technology, go with ecu boost control.

OEM IX Diverter valve will flutter under partial throttle and not every unit holds the same boost, mine started leaking at 22ish psi
