Boost Issues

Ok so i searched this and didnt really find anything to help me out. There are plenty of threads about it, i even posted on one to see if someone would help me out but no such luck.

So i just installed a boost gauge in my 06 Evo and no matter what gear and how hard or slow i mash the throttle it only goes up to 11psi. I checked all of my connections. And about a month ago the car just didnt seem as fast as it was when i first got it.

A little bit of history of the car, I bought it from a dealer, the ecu was screwed up so the replaced that, then the clutch went so they replaced that, then the serp. belt broke got caught up in the timing belt, so new valves. I have been having problems with this dealer since day one.

So anyone have any sugestions, im somewhat new to this whole turbo engine thing. So anyhelp would be awesome.

Sounds like you are running wastegate boost pressure 11-12 psi. You might want to start by checking there.

There is a line coming off the turbo elbow [ the black pipe that comes off the turbo] and another
line coming off the waste gate. both lines should merge and go to the boost solenoid [or manual boost controller] if that is not clear take off your air filter so you can take a pic and post it on here.

Ok here are some pics i just took, The first one is from the turbo and wastgate side of things....and the second is from under the air box.(This piece was zip-tied in place, and the clamps where like that when i took the pictures.) So i know the car has been apart.

So are these lines on right or do they need to be switched?

I found another picture of these and it looked like my lines where switched. so i switched them and i still get only 11psi, i also tightened all of the boost fittings, and intercooler pipes that i could get to.

Iīd take a trip down to your local Mitsu dealerīs parts department and for $17.00 you should pickup the factory vacuum-boost hose assembly. This comes with the original T and the inline restrictor orifices.

Next, after installing the above, I would increase wastegate spring pressure up to about 17 PSI for starters.
