AIT JDM style rear bumper look-a-like..

anyone have one of these or know how they look..post pictures please.

always wanted a JDM rear bumper but dont have $800 to spend on a bumper $270 sounds more reasonable if it looks very similar.

^ you can afford an Evo 9 MR but not a $800 rear bumper that will come color matched and guaranteed perfect fitment??

everybody else will recommend OEM is the best bet. Save your money and get the real deal, you will be glad you did in the end

not sure about the fitment and all but just remember it comes unfinished which means its going to need to be primed and painted. then dont forget shipping which is a pretty penny on these. by the time all thats done you are only $100 less then a real one i bet

your better off getting a real JDM one. they come pre painted so they match factory colors perfect and you know the fitment is good. you can get them for around $800-$850 shipped

OMG are you serious? There has been at least 100 of these threads. Do a search and you will find a lot of information.

You will end up spending the same amount if not more then a OEM JDM bumper.
Good paint job will not be cheap and more then likely a body shop might have to do some alterations to get it to fit nice which will cost $$$

I know of 2 people that went that route. First guy saved 20$ all said and done. Second guy wan't so lucky and spent an extra 50$ getting the body shop to make it fit.

Save up and buy the real thing.

Dont forget that that 270$ doesnt include shipping. On their website it says it will be 175 to ship. So thats 345

I found a fiber glass replica for $100 within driving distance, it sat in my garage for half of a year before i decided to get it painted. I ended up getting both the front and the replica rear painted for $280. I made a custom plate for behind the license plate, painted it, then put in a l.e.d. strip for tag lights that cost me $20. I put it on and it fits perfect, absolutely perfect. I saved a bunch of money.

You can't get a JDM bumper in BBY, so I'd be curious to see how this fits as well.

it is pure lunacy to spend 800 dollars on ONE exterior item... i don't get why people are willing to spend so much money on parts just because they're JDM... exactly how much HP will that give you, how much sec's of your time... nothing but a hole in ur pocket for a lil eye candy... if u really want to go this route... save some money buy the replica... or just save 8-500dollars all together and keep ur USDM bumper...

Another thing to consider, you will need to either modify the crash beam or by a replacement that will work with the JDM bumper. Just something to think about when you weight your options. Price could be around $1,000 before you even get the real JDM bumper shipped.

ummm..most people dont buy it because its jdm. they buy it because they love the way it changes to look of the car. thats the reason i got mine. it looks 100000X better

why buy performance products to make more horsepower or suspension upgrades if its a street car? your argument can go both ways buddy.

I dont run a rear crash beam on mine. whats the point really? they would only do little protection for speeds under 10mph. pointless above 10mph. evos in japan dont run them from the factory...so i assume it wont hurt if i dont.

this thread is becoming a pissing contest of preference already. why don't you, A. buy this, prime, paint and put it on. record the whole process with pictures, and if you saved money over OEM, then great. here's an alternative to the OEM JDM bumper, or B. listen to what a thousand people are gonna post here, save yourself the trouble and do the OEM JDM bumper.
