Watching JDM video of Evo Tuning
It's all Japanese so I'm just picking up bits and pieces. It's a great video. It's volume 8 of something, but it's all about the Evo VII. So far they've showcased 2 Evos - the Puma and the HKS Evo VII. The HKS Evo dropped the VII's stock time around Tsukuba Circuit from 1:07 to 56 seconds. It's awesome! The HKS team even showed a step by step upgrade path for the Evo.
yup yup...!!! I got it the day I got that video... freakin' sick... it's kinda cool when you can actually understand what they are saying, those japanese classes finally start reaping some benefits
yea, kinda sux though cause they do talk a little about the ACD that the jdm evos come with, which actually has it's on ECU that can be set to user specs... not fair... it's pretty tight knowing that your car can be a track contender with the set-ups they are using though

yup it sucks that we dont have the ayc and acd on our cars. also the 6 gear tranny... if we only got those there'll be no more sti vs evo discussions.
in the dvd, the evo spanked the sti so bad.

I bet with some stage 3 coilovers and strut and sway bars as well as some perches I could make my lancer fly around a track.
Most small cars can be GREAT track cars with $40,000 in parts.

Dude most cars could be track contenders with the right coilovers, strut and sway bars and tires and rims. Prime example the Acura RSX and Honda Civics that some JDM tuners have. They make those things fly tracks.

I agree whole-heartedly with masterevo on this one man... the car may be able to handle with grace with coilovers and struts, but you still have to have power man... those civics and rsx's(type-r's) are pretty much all turboed and pushing a minimum of 400hp... now when it comes to something like touge where handling means everything, a whole lot of power isn't necessary (hachi-rokus and dc2's can attest to that)... but when it comes to something like the super lap challenge at tsukuba or any other road course for that matter... power is definitely necessary... no offense man, just stating the truth
