I pretty sure that mounting the fittings at the bottom can trap air pockets in the cooler.

 

Great pics, I'm looking forward to installing mine pretty soon. Good to see that the cooler will work in more mounting ways than one, I was a bit concerned about having to do any cutting or extra modifications to make it work.

 

I just bought the stm race oil cooler... does it matter what side you hook up the in and return line??

 

Nope. You can choose either end as the input side with this heat exchanger. Just make sure you are careful with the Pipe thread fittings. These in particular tend to gall easily.

 

If this is the B&M cooler = price. It performs less than OEM, but if you're only daily driving or drag racing, that's fine. No surprise, it's considerably smaller than OEM.
If it's the Setrab cooler = performance. The Setrab is legit.

I did mine same as OEM. Can't go wrong there.
