SCC Names EVO8 "2004 Car of the year"
Not sure if this is old news or not.. But I just picked up the FEB 2004 issue of Sport Compact Car magazine (I think they put it out early.. Ya think?)
They named the 2004 Mitsubishi Evolution their Car Of the Year
Not sure if I scooped this or its been posted already..
How many awards would that give the USDM Evo so far?
BIG OOPS.. thanks for pointing that out..
2004 EVO picked for 2004 CAR of the year.. MAJOR TYPO.. I forgot what year it was..

Automobile Magazine named the Evo as the 2004 Automobile of the Year (and called it the car icon of the decade) in the January 2004 issue; CAR Magazine from the UK awarded it second place (out of 14 entrants) in their 2003 Performance Car of the Year, losing out only to the Vauxhall 220 Turbo but beating the Porsche GT3 and Ferrari Modena, among others....

it's a great car in a lot of ways, made for traversing vast expanses in minimum time...fantastic brakes, great build quality, wonderful thumping V8 exhaust note, great looking in person, and actually very stealthy (ours is black on black).....but the Evo is, honestly, a lot more fun to drive on a day-to-day basis!....I've got some work to do on the 28, but since the Evo has been sharing garage space with it, the 28 has remained under cover and waiting for attention, I'm afraid...been doing lots of puttering around with the Evo...
oh, and by the way, I've always been an SC fan myself!

Winston, it's an '89, has 14,800 original miles....very fine condition, we've had it since December '99

Winston....wow, I could use your talents around the garage! I've got to do the flex plate pinch bolt thing, no big deal, and replace a steering fluid reservoir hose that's weeping just a tad.......but I think I might have a torque tube bearing going out, and I've kinda' been avoiding getting under the car to check the sound to tell for sure.
Thanks for the props. If I had it to do over again, I'd wait to find a GTS with a 5-speed. I love those cars! I've always wondered what they'd be like now if Porsche had been able to continue development of them, but, they just got too expensive and weren't selling enough. The 95's are awesome...but so very rare and still quite expensive. The '93 is probably the best bang for the buck 928 there is, with the possible exception of a '90 GT or a Euro S. Hang on to that SC! They're hard to beat...
I'm headed for bed...another long day tomorrow. See you 'round!
cheers!...
