is this stock or did the owner before me do this?
Today I was changing my plugs and zip tied some wires and vacuum lines up higher out of the way under the driver side dash. I looked up directly behind the little cubby and noticed a switch with a knob. I was laying in the floor and was turning it back and forth and it did nothing I thought and then my girl noticed while I was laying in the floor messing with it turning it that the speedo lights were going from an aqua green to blue color. Is this stock or did the previos owner do something to make it do that?
Ill post some pics up here shortly. Its definately not any kind of overlay its the lighting behind the cluster itself I looked up pics to see if it was different but its the same the lighting just can be changed. Now I kinda want to pull it out and see how they done it and see about changing the colors to match my gauges

chaotic chaos you were right sorry for doubting you
my switch looks exactly how the one in the link u provided does. you wouldnt happen to know where i can get another one would you? while i was taking the pics i think mine went out. it went from dark blue to green once and when i tried changing it back the cluster went out completely. i got it back on but im not messing with it till i get another switch. i think the inside of the knob got corroded and broke its contacts or something?
My car came with these gauges, but the owner cut the freaking wire right off the switch and knob box. That part was gone.
So I contacted Trustz and he actually gave me the wiring, so I was able to directly connect the wires for Blue, and full strength.
So I have no knob or ability to switch to green or dim it, but it works and I didn't have to buy anything. I can give you the wiring info if you want.

Basically figure out which side of the switch has the color you want. Wire those directly to the center without criss crossing.
As for brightness, if you just directly connect the two wires, it will be full bright. I was worried about no resistance burning it out, but it's been like this since November without any issues at all.

Regardless of which color lights you want, make this connection.
Green directly connected to Tan (100% brightness)
Now pick whether you want blue or green, but only hook up one set below.
*DO NOT CONNECT BOTH GREEN AND BLUE! CHOOSE ONLY ONE SET TO HOOK UP*
For Blue lights
Yellow connected to Black/Ground
Red connected to White
Make sure Orange and Blue are not connected to anything, those are not used for this color.
For Green Lights
Orange connected to Black/Ground
Blue connected to White
Make sure Yellow and Red are not connected to anything, those are not used for this color.
So I followed the steps for Blue, and left Yellow and Red disconnected and individually wrapped with electrical tape to keep them from contacting anything.

You can buy a new one from Trustz himself. He was amazingly polite, especially considering I basically was asking him how to avoid buying another switchbox. Note: He sells the switch and transformer box as one item separate from the gauges. I don't remember the price. It was like $20-$30 off the top of my head.
Here is the install guide he sent me for the box. Basically remember, I just bought this car and had no backlighting since it was just cut right off as if the switchbox itself had some kind of value?!?!? I contacted trustz on day one of owning the car and wanted to use his gauges but only if I could see at night.
If he objects (I doubt since he was so kind) I'll remove this as it's technically his IP as all manuals are.... I was totally in the dark and this forum came together to tell me what I had and how to fix it. Just passing along the favor. Thanks guys and I hope this is helpful to someone.
