Question door open dash light stays on

So just starting today, i noticed my door open dash light stays on all the time. If I open the door the light fully comes on and when I close it it "dims" so to speak. This is creating quite a nuisance bc I have an aftermarket alarm so after about an hour or so with the alarm armed, the alarm thinks a door is open so it goes off. I did a quick search and didnt come up with anything helpful. Anyone out there have this problem before? Or anyone know the proper way to fix it? If I removed the bulb would that be a temperary fix so I can set my alarm?

Thx for any help,
Dylan

That sounds like a loose sensor to me.

let me rephrase that its more of a switch its in the door you know when you open the door and look at the pillar there's a little about 1inch round piece of metal that's like a little pole you could say. well that moves the switch in the door latch to say the doors open or closed. that could be either loose or stuck I would hit that with a tiny bit of wd-40. it happened to my parents honda accord and we did that and it worked. I hope this helps.

P.s. Just use a little because there are wires there.

I checked all the door swithces last night before I put this thread up. But thank you though. Also, this morning and last night the light hasn't been on at all. Idk what is going on but I think it has something to do with the heavy heavy rain we got the other night. Bc my driver side roof molding is jacked up and I believe water got in there but idk what it would "infect"

Have you tried simply resetting the battery + your alarm?

Have you looked behind the driver's side kick panel for corrosion?
