i don't think anybody would bother spending so much money to do something like that...if its even possible...

 

Sounds really stupid to be honest and a waste of funds if you want a automatic evo so bad just buy a GTA evo 7 or just spend the money on a MR Evo or just Get a 09+ Ralliart. Complete waste of funds to do that swap and im sure would require alot of custom parts. Now if you are a shop then i can understand wasting the money just for show but a average person would not waste the time.

 

The engines rotate the opposite direction. So in other words you would have one of the fastest 1/4's in reverse

 

That would be sick to do. I was kinda thinking the whole 4b11 swap because I love the idea of a twin system in a viii/ix.

 

honestly i would be easier to swap the WHOLE drivetrain of the evox into the evo8/9 than just swapping the trany in

 

The tranny wont fit..

 

Mitsubishi used a CT9A chassis for the transmission and 4b11 development

It's kind of a bad pic, but here it is. It shows the mods to the hood to get room for the upper IC layout.



here is a pic with the complete front end..



Notice the wider front fenders, and the hood mods. There physically isn't enough room for the 4b11 in the CT9A chassis. The SST transmission is also wider than the manual trans found in the older evos

It would work as long as you used the whole entire swap. Other than that no the motor spins backwards to what our cars do now.

 

If only the X actually looked something close to this. Do you happen to have any info on the article these photos came from, I wouldn't mind reading up on it.

 

I like the rumor about the next Evo using the lighter Colt platform.

Seems like Mitsu also is noticing that the X is too heavy for the crowd assuming the rumor has clout.
