tein lowering springs?
A lot of people put lowering springs on, end up with a really bumpy/nasty ride, and infer that the springs are too stiff. And most of these people have it exactly backwards: the lowering springs are actually way too soft for the new ride height and they are actually banging the bumpstops.
If you haven't heard about them ruining your struts, then you haven't been on here too long, lol. Those springs lower them so much (from being way too soft) that the front struts are completely compressed (sitting on the bump stops) at all times, well, until the car hits a bump, then it rebounds and comes slamming back down on the bumpstop. They are cheap for a reason.

Yup, I got my Evo used and the previous owner had the Tein S-Tech's on and completely blown struts. I didn't really care because I was already intending to put on KW Variant 3 coilovers, but if you want to keep your stock struts I don't recommend the Teins. In addition to beating the crap out of the struts they overly lower the front imo, which adversely affects handling and looks somewhat odd.
They blew my struts! But I have an MR with the Bilstiens. I havent heard of them blowing non MR struts. Nut I agree with Blackenedwings as it is TO low of a drop and rides like crap. The previous owner of my MR had them on it it had 3 blown struts. I they them springs away and got some BC Coilovers and LOVE THEM!
