Clutch and what is right for me?
Ok so my stock clutch is slipping at wot. And well I was wanting to replace it with of course an aftermarket one. And Ive done research on them. Ive herd problems with all of them execpt the exedy. Act i heard has lock out issues and the comp clutch has a wacky throw out bearing that doesnt work right. But paired with a exedy TOB its a great clutch. stage 2 or 3. And well I was wondering what some of my fellow evom members where using. And issues that they have had. I really have my eye on the Competetion clutch stage 2 or 3 tho. So anyone that has that clutch please chime in. Mods are in signature
Thanks

Thanks
I've had the Competition Stage 3 clutch installed for a little over 4 months now and just over 4k miles and so far, I really like it! Pedal pressure is the same, if not lighter, than the stocker IMO. I also had 2 other guys with stock clutches in their Evo's try it and they agree that its lighter than the stocker. Only problem I have had with this clutch is the break-in period; right after it was installed, it felt like an on-off switch during engagement. It also felt like my friend's 5th gen Camaro's clutch. Other than that, she's held up really well! I'm also running it with a resurfaced stock flywheel. Here's a review of the clutch by Kracka:

EDIT: I'm also bone stock as far as power mods go. The clutch is rated for something like 350 WTQ and I'm only shooting for a bit below that.

I just installed my act street disc clutch about two months ago. When I got over the 500 mile break in mark, I romped on it pretty good.
Feels great, can definitely tell all the power is going straight to the wheels, no lockout either through all gears. I played with the pedal adjustment to get it just right and it feels great. Especially with the torque solutions front motor mount. This is my first act clutch so I can't vouch for them too much, no problems yet though.

My ACT had lockout with just above stock power. Didnt start happening until about 3/4 of the life through the clutch. I now have an Exedy twin HD and love it. It holds well at 475hp. Someone is selling one that was rebuilt 5k miles ago for 800 bucks.
Check this one out. Price includes the flywheel. If it's good enough for Curt Brown it's certainly good enough for you and I. Pm me or post in this thread if you have any questions as I don't frequent this forum much anymore.
