Yes another off throttle Rattle/Flutter thread...
Hey Guys,
So I finally got my Evo back just as summer is over
. Anyways I never heard this rattle before, but when I am letting off the throttle I hear a rattle/flutter noise from what appears to be around the test pipe/down pipe area. It sounds like some kind of shield is rattling or fluttering against metal, but I can not identify what it is or where it is originating from. I had the car lifted today and checked my entire turbo back exhaust (even the inside, but did not remove the down pipe) and found nothing.
I have a tbe, intake, cams, hard rad piping, new clutch around 6000 miles ago, just had the full timing belt/water pump done, engine gasket kit done for major stuff. I also just completely changed all my transfer case, transmission and rear diff fluids at Mitsubishi with OEM fluids recently.
I did not hear this sound until recently once, I got my car back.
I read though all the threads on evoM and pin pointed it to the clutch, downpipe hitting a shield/bar, oil pan, sub frame tie bars, contact with drive shaft, but I don't think it would be any of those as I checked most of the underside today.
Is this normal or should I be bending over and opening my wallet again for my Evo?
