Evo IX or Evo X?

Im debating between getting an 08 Evo or an 06 Evo i no longer have my Evo Im debating between the two on what i should buy and I would like some opinions from other evo drivers in my opinion i would like another VIII or a XI but a close friend also an Evo driver who baught his car because of me, is insisting i get an 08 so i would like some opinions on what everyone thinks as far as performance and reliability.

Depends on what YOU want.. sounds cliche.. but I had an 06 IX se sold it and I just bought a X and I couldn't be happier. What made it the x for me was the interior. Just my .02 but you'll be happy with either since you dont have one at all lol

i think theres a pretty big margin in price difference between the two. if its no object then i'd prolly get the X. its something about it that makes me want one bad. but if u watch top gear, jeremy explains that the X is like the computer is driving you but he didnt think anything would be any better than the XIII, IX and the evo X is. so i guess it comes down to if u like computers to do the driving or you like the raw feel of doing the driving yourself?

Yup, the X's trunk opening limits what you can put in there, no pun intended

here is my take on it. You have already owned a evo 8 right. Well guess what the driving experience is not any different in a 9 so i say you been there done that go for something new and get the X. New fresh feeling and take on things. If i decide to sell my evo and for some strange reason i wanted another one i would go for the X just for a different experience

Forget the individual debate between the two cars. It's very tough to find a clean IX and even at that, you don't have any warranty and could still run into problems. If you buy a new X, you do get a warranty at least.

you wont notice a whole lot from 8 to 9, and you'll be wondering why you did it. go with something new. and this is coming from a diehard 9 guy.

The X's interior is covered in hard, brittle plastics. How is it an improvement?

Agreed tons of plastic. However the overall look and layout is nicer than the 8,9 imo. The shift boot in the x looks like its made of pleather.

Cosmetics are certainly a matter of taste and I can see how someone can prefer the X's interior. The issue I have is quality, or its lack thereof. To me, appearance without quality is superficial. The materials are at least one step back from the previous generation. It's almost shameful at this day and age.
