EVO 9 MR - Near new
Well the 06/07 STi's are pretty cheap compared to 06 Evo's from what I've seen. I'm guessing it's because it's a Subaru and subbies don't really maintain a resale value as Mitsu does. Also the hatch STi's are pretty sick.
Anyone else think this will hold true? I'd hate to pay a premium for an Evo and see prices drop after I get one maybe due to failing economy.

The only car that holds some sort of value with Mistubishi is their Evolution line and primarily the 2006 IX. This is due to it only being made for 1 year, last of the 7/8/9 body, engine etc. and overall demand. I see the price holding steady at around 20k+ for a decent mileage IX over the next couple of years.

Sellers are asking higher prices, but not getting them. I've had to drop my car to almost $20k and it's a near perfect condition 9 MR. People just don't have the money right now, so selling your car for those prices are very hard.
Are you kidding? Subaru walked away with the title of Best Resale Value Brand from KBB recently (and they won again this year I think as well) and all their models hold so much more value than Mistubishi vehicles. From their Impreza base models, Outlander to STI models they are all more expensive than Mistubishi vehicles even used (not to mention new).

Wow I payed 26k for mine with 2133 miles on it (not a typo) one owner 44 years old just wanted what he had left owing on it. Said the car wasn't what he expected. Showroom condition too 2 years ago this march.

For the OP, South Coast Mitsu sells new Evo Xs at $30,000...it'd take a pretty dumb person to pay that much for 6 year old car with 17,000 miles on it. Dealers trying to sell at a price higher than the original selling price!
I'm on Autotrader, Craigslist, Cars.Com and Carmax everyday. Evos are selling for less than STIs are when you compare apples to apples.

Are they actually selling for more, or just being advertised for more? In my experience, 95% of the time people pay more for Evos, although STi's might be technically worth more. I know a few people that have bought STi's within the last some-odd months and they most certainly paid less than you could get a similar Evo for.
I just think what people are advertising for, and actually getting are two different things.

It isn't a knock on the Evo; just saying that it's resale value isn't as high as the STIs.
