Full Blown Double pumper lean

So i just put in a full blown double pumper. It idles fine and drive fine for the most part. I was crusing on the highway was going 60-65mph and randomly it goes lean and you feel the car loose power. I let off the gas and it is fine again. This only happens in 5th gear cruising and goes lean every 5mins about it will do it.

pulled the backseat off when i got home to see if there was a fuel leak or somthing like that every is still on and nothing is leaking

if i get into boost it goes rich like it should no missfire ect..

only reason i can think of maybe bec i have about 1/4 tank of gas?

UPDATE: i did a pull in my car. First pull and the motor Popped. It was super laggy during spool up but idk if it was 1 of the 3 things. If i had a huge boost leak when taking off the turbo there was a bolt hand tight. or if the double pumper was cause the car to go lean at WOT or if the motor was ready to just go. i doubt the motor was ready to go because it had no symptoms and it was running great before.

I did a log when it blew up and had no knock during the pull. So my question is could the double pumper run lean like that causing it to pop?

I thought something wonky with double pumpers happened at < 1/4 tank and they would starve for fuel. I dont have the fullblown one but I never let my car get below 1/4.

Not to derail the thread or anything, but why is the Evo community dead set on the DP set up? I'm fairly new to Evos, but well versed in Audi/VW and we've always used a surge tank with an 044 or some other inline pump.

I've been running this on my MR and haven't had an issue with fueling.

Just wondering as it's relavent to the discussion.

Maybe because its cheaper and you dont have to take up unwanted space with a second tank.

I know it saves weight but why run your car hard with that little fuel in the tank? I saw 9.9:1 afr's on my car with a dp setup. I did mod it a bit though. Rewired it with 10 gauge all over, drilled out the stock siphon restrictor, and -10 feed with -8 return, 1650's.

The 9.9:1 was 30psi on a 37r, 43psi base fuel pressure, aeromotive 1:1 reg. Pumps held the 73psi no problem. Everything about my fuel system is overkill, but my block is still in 1 piece.

Since you're going to be building your motor, why not do your fuel system too. A fuel setup that is pretty reliable, that I am doing as well, is a surge tank with a couple Bosch 044s.

Surge tank option is def not cheaper but the shop I work with found a way to save a little space.

Down to post #1289 starting at picture #3, is my surge tank. It mounts on the opposite side of the washer fluid reservoir. As for the pumps, I'm going to mount them where the charcoal canister/evap system was.

Because the Buschur DP is simple and flat out works. With a simple feed line upgrade, it'll support 1000WHP on E85.
